Tesla App 4.55.6 Release Notes

Tesla App 4.55.6 was released on April 16, 2026. Its current-version material includes 2 official feature entries and 3 Undocumented observations. This article explains their practical meaning and their connection with earlier releases, keeping unofficial findings in the news and the official notes in the illustrated section below.

Unlike 4.55.5, which has only undocumented current-version findings, this update contains official feature entries. The two versions share a branch but have different reported content. The linked previous article explains the earlier Powerwall and charging-passport work, while this release's official Sketchpad and exported-video changes are presented separately below.

Two official entries distinguish this release from the earlier 4.55 updates. Sketchpad Support allows saved in-car drawings to be accessed and shared through the mobile app. Vehicle Telemetry Now Saved adds driving information to downloaded clips, so relevant details remain visible after a recording is saved to the phone.

The Sketchpad context needs care. The accompanying explanation associates the revised drawing experience with vehicle software 2026.14 and expects AMD Ryzen infotainment support. A configured phone key is needed to retrieve drawings stored in the vehicle. These are contextual requirements described alongside the entry, rather than a promise that every Tesla gains the same drawing interface.

Telemetry makes exported recordings more informative by retaining details such as speed, steering angle, and Self-Driving status within the saved video. Previously, that information could be displayed while viewing a clip without becoming part of the exported recording. The change concerns the saved evidence, not a new camera or recording-resolution specification.

Three additional observations are Undocumented: Dog Mode is renamed Pet Mode, wrap and license-plate display support extends to Model S and Model X, and app code can show a scheduled automatic vehicle update. Their associated vehicle features depend on compatible firmware. They are discussed only in this news text; the illustrated entries below contain the two official items.

Saved Sketchpad drawings can be retrieved through the Tesla app and shared or saved on the phone. Access requires the phone to be configured as a vehicle key; the drawings remain stored locally in the car.

The accompanying explanation links the revised Sketchpad to vehicle software 2026.14 and expects AMD Ryzen infotainment compatibility. Treat that hardware context separately from the short official entry rather than assuming every vehicle has the same drawing tools.

Downloaded video clips now retain vehicle telemetry within the saved recording, including speed, steering-wheel angle, and Self-Driving status. This preserves the information when the clip is viewed or shared outside the app, rather than displaying it only during playback in Tesla's viewer.
