2026.38.6 Release Notes

Tesla software update 2026.38.6 was listed on October 29, 2026, adding another build to the 2026.38 family. Its official release notes are now available, replacing the earlier provisional assessment with seven confirmed entries. The package covers charging-related controls, Halloween effects, destination-energy planning, parked visuals, headlight adjustment, Supercharger maps, and security improvements. Each entry has its own vehicle and hardware conditions, so the complete set should not be assumed available on every Tesla.

Emergency Drive Away allows the listed newer Model S and Model X variants, Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck to select Drive while still connected to a Supercharger. It is strictly an emergency measure: departing with the cable attached damages both the vehicle and charger, may leave repair costs with the user, and shares short vehicle-camera recordings with Tesla. This is not a normal cable-release procedure.

Halloween Mode separately lists AMD-equipped vehicles for a ghost-themed visualization, visitor-triggered sounds and flickering lights, a scheduled light show, and Photobooth effects. The theme can be used throughout the year. Visual Updates has narrower requirements: AMD-equipped HW3 Model 3 and Model Y receive sharper vehicle imagery and a richer parked environment on the center display.

Set Arrival Energy lets owners choose the desired destination battery level from their phone's location screen after entering a trip. It requires Tesla App 4.58.0 or later and lists Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Cybertruck. Dynamic Headlight Leveling instead applies to specific Model 3 and Cybertruck vehicles, adjusting low-beam aim for driving conditions and surrounding traffic.

Supercharger Site Maps targets the listed Intel-equipped vehicles, including legacy Model S and Model X. At supported pilot locations, View Site Map provides a station layout and live stall status on arrival, helping distinguish available, occupied, and unavailable stalls. The worldwide label on this entry does not mean that every Supercharger location has a detailed map.

Security Improvements completes the official package without naming individual vulnerabilities or repairs. The confirmed entries replace the earlier possible-predecessor discussion; no particular correction should be inferred from the build number. Below are this version's illustrated release notes, preserving the exact titles, vehicle variants, hardware requirements, and availability conditions.

In an emergency, the listed vehicles can select Drive while a Supercharger cable remains attached. Leaving in this state damages the vehicle and Supercharger and may make the user responsible for repairs; it is not an everyday unplugging method. Activating the function also shares short recordings from the vehicle cameras with Tesla.
